Weekend at Douai Abbey Friday 8th – Sunday 10th November 2006 (hosted by Young Catholic Adults)
The weekend will be examining the role of St. We shall consider the lives
of the Desert Fathers and the Rule of St Benedict. There will be opportunities
for individual spiritual direction. In addition there will be a guided walk
in the surrounding countryside and social activities. Mass in the Traditional
Rite will be celebrated on the Sunday and it is hoped to arrange a Traditional
Mass on the Saturday (if possible).
Cost 30 pounds. To reserve your place, please a 15 pound deposit (NON RETURNABLE) to Damian Barker, Flat 5, 12 St. Catherine Street, Kingsholm, Gloucester, Glos. GL2 9DU (please make any cheques payable to YCA). We have booked a row of three farm labourers' cottages, which have been converted, into one. They are centrally heated and have a kitchen, scullery, dining room, lounge and chapel and provide simple self- catering accommodation.
A basic breakfast will be provided on the Saturday and Sunday morning - we
will be having our main meal in the village on Saturday and Sunday. Alternatively,
there is the possibility of being full- board (prices by arrangement).
